Project Margin

Project Margin helps people who are living on the streets, couch-surfing or in unstable tenancies into housing of their own.

DCM provides ongoing outreach support until a tenancy can be managed and sustain independently.

Project Margin staff work closely with City Housing (WCC), Housing New Zealand and other agencies to find appropriate accommodation for clients.

A needs assessment is carried out when a service user signs up to Project Margin. Some of our service users come from situations of rough sleeping - literally from sleeping on the streets, in parks or the town belt. Many people have long term alcohol or drug addictions or mental health issues that work against a successful move into independent accommodation.

Project Margin is currently funded by the WCC as part of the 10 year Strategic Plan to address homelessness.
