The Big Chill
Wellington summer? No, it’s an appeal to help DCM purchase a new freezer for the FoodBank.

Last Friday, the large chest freezer which has served us well for over 15 years finally died. We’re now down to just one freezer and haven’t got enough space to freeze all the food donations that come in.

Do you know anyone with a large chest freezer that’s still in good condition and needs a new home?

Or, would you like to support our appeal to raise money for the purchase of a new freezer? Click here to donate.

Over 50 FoodBank users are supported each week by DCM with food parcels to help them get by. Many others pick up frozen bread we’ve collected from the local Pandoro Bakery.

The bread is collected twice a week by DCM staff and volunteers who load it into the freezers for storage. The next day a service user bags up the bread into take-home sizes. Then they are loaded into the waiting room freezer ready for anyone to come in and collect a bag of bread for free with no questions asked.

Please let us know if you can help DCM find a new freezer.
