How can I help?

We need your books

DCM needs your quality book donations to ensure the DCM Bookfair is a huge success in our 50th birthday year. In addition to books, CDs, DVDs, vinyl, puzzles and games are most welcome. These can be dropped off directly to our sorting facility on Shelly Bay Road on Thursdays or Saturdays from 9:30am - 12:00pm until Saturday 20 July when we will need to cease book donations. The door to the sorting unit is directly off Shelly Bay Road, across the street from Artisan Screen Prints near Chocolate Fish Café. See the map (below) where X marks the spot!

If you can’t make it along to Shelly Bay, books can also be dropped off to DCM’s offices on Lukes Lane on week days.

We need your bags

We also encourage you to bring in your unused supermarket bags so we can offer them to people at the DCM Bookfair. We need hundreds (if not thousands!), so please bring these in from home or the boot of your car so we can make sure this year's Bookfair is as plastic bag free as possible.

We need volunteers

The DCM Bookfair needs many volunteers, both in the lead-up to the event, and on the day (Saturday 17 August 2019). We need volunteers on the tills, people to greet customers and help keep the space tidy, as well helping with some heavy lifting tasks such as pack-down. Can you help with hospitality, publicity, and getting the message out to all your networks? If you would like to volunteer, please get in touch by emailing events@dcm.org.nz
