Thank you for considering a gift in your Will

Your generosity will make a lasting impact, ensuring our neighbours who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness always have a place to come for connection and to access essential services.

How to Include DCM in Your Will

We want to use your gift in a way that fulfils your wishes. We can either use your bequest for general purposes or a specific purpose, outlined below. Our preference is for bequests for general purposes because it means we can use your gift where there is the greatest need for the community. We are incredibly grateful when people like you put their trust in us to meet the needs of our most marginalised neighbours. However, we welcome gifts in support of specific services and would love to discuss your plans with you.

Please find below an explanation of the types of bequests we are able to accept. We suggest you discuss your wishes with your solicitor and that they sight your final letter to us to ensure your wishes are fulfilled.

Residuary Bequest - here you make a gift of what is left over or a percentage thereof (the residue) in your estate after all expenses and debts have been settled and your other beneficiaries have been provided for.

Specified Bequest – this is where a particular item of value (for example stocks and shares, property or works of art) is gifted.

Pecuniary Bequest – this means a specified sum of money in your Will is gifted.

Whichever form of bequest you choose, leaving a gift in your will is a meaningful way to make a lasting change, and to uplift our most marginalised neighbours for generations to come. Whatever the size of your gift, you will make an incredible difference. A gift of just 1% of your estate can provide lifechanging support for our whānau, whilst making sure your loved ones are provided for.

I’d like to Include DCM in an existing Will

If you have already written your Will and would like to include DCM, you can do so by adding a codicil (a legal document that allows you to make changes to your will without creating a new one). We recommend asking your solicitor for help with this.
